BARREL ROOM / MUSEUM
Bottaia
To make the wine tastings and visits more complete and interesting for our guests, we have set up in our Barrel room a small museum representative of the Euganean territory. Here, you can closely observe samples of soil, on which the roots of the vines give us the precious Euganean wine, and old-fashioned tools used to work these lands.
Next to the farm still stands a historic villa dating back to the 12th century, whose owner was not an ordinary man: Mr Isidoro Alessi, jurist, historian and archaeologist born in the 18th century in the nearby Este, who is considered today the father of Atestine archaeology. Also Villa Alessi has always been attentive to the territory and its ancient past: that’s why we have set up a little museum in our Barrel room, where you can find brief historical explanations and ancient artefacts. In addition, we have used the ancient Venetian alphabet on the labels of our wines, don’t you believe it?
Vigneto didattico
